A Cloudi breathing session: the cloud inside a ring, with the prompt Breathe in, let the cloud grow
The Cloudi home screen: Good morning, a mood check-in, the cloud mascot saying Take a deep breath, and a Start button

The challenge

Calm, without the control panel.

Calm apps rarely feel calm. Most of them look like medical equipment: dark screens, clinical timers, and a lot of instruction for something the body already knows how to do.

Cloudi started from the opposite instinct. Something that calms you down should feel like company, not a control panel. One small cloud that grows as you breathe in and softens as you let go. Designed and shipped end to end: brand, mascot, iOS and watch app, and the website.

The hardest part was the mood check-in. Cloudi has around twenty faces, and the difficult ones had to be honest without piling on. A sad cloud shouldn't make a bad morning worse. Every face says I see you, not I'm sorry for you.

01 / The experience

One minute, start to finish.

Cloudi keeps the loop tiny: say how you feel, pick a breath, and follow the cloud. No onboarding, no course to complete, no streak to protect.

  1. The Cloudi home screen with the mood check-in, the cloud mascot and a Calm Breathing suggestion
Check in. Pick the cloud that matches your morning, and Cloudi suggests a breath to go with it.
  2. The Choose a breath sheet: one, five, ten or fifteen minutes, and Calm, Box and Sleep breathing
Choose a breath. Calm, Box or Sleep, from one minute to fifteen. Nothing to configure.
  3. A breathing session: the cloud inside a progress ring, with the prompt Breathe in and sound controls below
Breathe. The cloud grows as you breathe in and softens as you let go, with birds, waves or rain if you like.

02 / The design

Soft on purpose.

Cloudi's identity is a sky at dawn: lavender into peach, rounded type, and glass cards that let the gradient show through. Everything is built around the mascot, so the interface stays quiet and the cloud gets to be the character.

03 / The mascot

A cloud for every mood.

The check-in runs on around twenty faces of the same cloud. The difficult ones took the longest: they had to be honest without piling on, so a rough morning gets company instead of sympathy.

04 / Beyond the app

A cloud that keeps the time.

The home screen widget shows your streak and today's minutes, and changes with the day: excited in the morning, calm by day, and drifting off at night in a nightcap.

  • The Cloudi medium widget in the morning: an excited cloud on lavender into peach, 37 calm days and 6 minutes today Morning
  • The Cloudi medium widget by day: a smiling cloud on soft blue into pink Day
  • The Cloudi medium widget at night: a sleeping cloud in a nightcap on deep indigo Night

05 / The website

The same calm, on the web.

meetcloudi.com carries the app's sky onto the browser: the mascot, the gradients and the rounded type, in a responsive site that explains Cloudi in one scroll and sends people to the App Store.

“Working with Robin was the best decision I've made for my brand.”

They didn't just give me a pretty logo — they built a brand that feels like me but looks ten times more elevated than I imagined. People stop scrolling now.
